Teardrop Trailer

(Both the trailer and the page are a work in progress.)
I've never attempted anything like this before. I saw teardrop trailers
on the Travel Channel on RVCrazy. I thought they were very cool and
after searching around for a while I found the T&TTT Forum. That
stands for Teardrop And Tiny Travel Trailer. That is a great place for info.

This is the profile I came up with. Originally I was going to paint
everything blue but I've changed my mind and decided to leave all
the side pieces wood. I'm going to cover the top with putty colored vinyl.
Marine grade UV safe.

Harbor Freight heavy duty trailer.

I bolted leveling jacks to the rear of the trailer.

All LED lighting for the inside and out.

Side profiles being worked on.

Here I have the floor bolted down and all of my bulkheads are cut.

I got the black windows because I was planning on painting the trailer.
When I saw how good the wood looked I decided  to keep it natural.

I ordered the window trim based on an earlier design, yes I changed my mind on this also.
I had to remove the inside flange to make it work with thinner doors. I tried several ways but
what worked best was to grind 45deg on the edge and peel the flange off like a sardine can.

One side is going to be pretty plain.

The other side has more character. I'm planning on 3 or 4 coats of
Helmsman Spar Finish sanded with 220 grit between coats.

It's hard to see but the fender side panel is there also.

Four coats of the Minwax looks good.

Sorry that the "shop" looks so bad.

Can't wait to get these out in the sunlight.

Fenders.
