Rear bucket Seats
I wasn't planning on doing this until I saw some seats for
sale.
Then it seemed like a good idea and I'd seen a couple of other
Blazers that had it done, they all looked good so I went for it.
Here is a stock rear seat on the left and a bucket on the
right.
This shows where the rear seat mounts are.
The first thing I did was to take the buckets apart.
Here I'm trying to figure out how to make them fit.
I decided to make a frame for the seats to bolt onto and then
bolt the frame to the Blazer.
With my sub box and the problems with width I had to remove
the
reclining mechanisms. You can see the brackets I made in this shot.
At this point I had to decide where and how to mount the frame.
These are the major pieces of the frame, after they were
cleaned up and painted.
The top piece is for the front of the frame. Next is the back of the frame. The
4
pieces in the middle bolt to the bottom of the seats and to the front and rear
frame.
The 2 at the bottom bolt onto the stock seat mounting locations and the rear of
the
frame sits on top of them and they're bolted together.
Here it's all bolted together and ready to install.
All done and bolted in. I added brackets to the front of the
frame
to bolt to the stock floor mounts.
View from behind. I can't see anything in the rearview mirror
now. Oh well.
